Global Reporting Initiative

GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is the independent, international organisation that helps businesses take responsibility for their impacts, by providing them with the global common language to communicate about those impacts. GRI provides the world’s most widely used standards for sustainability reporting – the GRI Standards. In addition to its own standards, GRI is actively involved in developing the Environmental Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
The GRI standards, which are applied voluntarily, are used by more than 10,000 companies and organizations in over 100 countries.

As a community member, Goal 17 endorses GRI’s mission to support companies to take action for a more sustainable economy and better world, through the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards. Goal 17 partners with GRI because we believe transparency is the key to a sustainable world and sustainable business. Transparency creates insights, builds trust and encourages progress.

Consultants at Goal 17 are GRI certified, which means they are allowed to advise companies in applying the GRI standards and preparing GRI-verified sustainability reports.

If you want to learn more about how your company can report according to the GRI standards, contact Marcel Veenhuizen (marcel.veenhuizen@goal17.eco) or Michael Oosten (michael.oosten@goal17.eco) for a free intake.
